often inclined to borrow somebody's dreams till tomorrow
dear friends,
according to the associated press, syd barrett, founding member of (& coiner of the band name) pink floyd, died several days ago. no details have been released as to how he died. he was sixty-years old.
I wasn't too familiar with barrett until I got an education from j about barrett's time with floyd, subsequent solo material & slow mental disintegration. a sad tale indeed.
here are a couple of my favorite syd songs, one in the form of a floyd promo clip, the other in the form of a cover by former blur guitarist & syd barrett enthusiast, graham coxon.

Nice Coxon video. Haven't seen that one before. BTW, if you look up Syd Barrett on Wikipedia, you'll find more info on his passing. It's tagged as a current event, so people are updating it as info comes in. Last I read, he had diabetes and died due to complications.
thanks liz! I read/saw all the coverage last night with varying degrees of huh & what the...?
I guess we can look forward to the inevitable bio-pic starring: (insert name of hip actor du jour)
Impossibly hip actor would have to gain a lot of weight and shave his eyebrows and hair at a certain point in the film. Can impossibly hip actors do that? It seems very un-Entourage.c
jared leto porked up for that chapman movie. he knows that's the only way to get oscars. though I wouldn't call him impossibly hip, he is jordan catalano after all.
