It has a stubborn, hands on hips sound that's more early 80s art chick than the girly, swooping vibrato that's all the rage amongst current indie rock songbirds. I love it, she sounds like someone who'd never ever let anyone make a fantasy of her. She doesn't yell. She doesn't need to. Her feet are planted firmly in the ground. She lets her words run roughshod over you instead.
